This is a visit to the world of printmaking; the lino was cut before Christmas but was only put into production last week. Now there is an edition of 12 with 4 artist proofs. One of these proofs was given to some dear friends Susan & Phil (check out Susan’s work via the link)
Printmaking is a new avenue; it was taken on as a means of producing work that could be sold for less. Original prints can offer so much as a medium and with a lower price tag can offer themselves to a wider audience. With editions some of the preciousness is taken away compared with drawing & paintings that take a great deal of time for only one piece.
These prints are a new take on the ‘Horizon’ series. The first difference is the fact the image is negative giving a much more dense piece that is eye catching. The print has been left with plenty of border to highlight it.
